Victor Osimhen confirms his desire to play in England amid rumoured interest from Chelsea
Victor Osimhen, a forward from Nigeria, has declared his desire to compete in the English Premier League. In an attempt to help the Super Eagles win the Africa Cup of Nations for the fourth time in team history, the 2023 Africa Player of the Year is presently in Cote d’Ivoire.
In their first Group A match, Equatorial Guinea held the three-time champions to a draw thanks to a goal by Osimhen. The Super Eagles players were permitted to speak with the media at their Abidjan camp before Wednesday’s matchup with the hosts, Ivory Coast.
The Napoli forward, whose contract was extended in December, said he would like to play in the Premier League. “Of course, one day, definitely,” he told Toni Afoke for Sky Sports. “For now, I have other plans in my career I am looking forward to, but when the time comes, everyone knows,” he added.
Osimhen is being watched by several teams, with Chelsea allegedly getting ready to make an offer for the lanky forward. Last season, the 25-year-old created history by helping Napoli win their first championship in 33 years. Mega Icon Magazine said he was also Serie A’s leading scorer at the end of the season.
