Nwabali misses Nigeria training as Super Eagles prepare for Ivory Coast Showdown
Nwabili’s presence in the Super Eagles team is crucial for a guaranteed performance in the finals of the AFCON. Following their victory over South Africa in the semi-final on Wednesday, Nigeria has started training in preparation for their matchup with Ivory Coast in the AFCON 2023 final.
The Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana match ended in a 1-1 stalemate after regulation time, with a penalty shootout following the game to decide the winner. Stanley Nwabali, the custodian for Nigeria, stopped two of South Africa’s four penalties; Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning kick.
Sportsbrief stated that Nwabali, the Chippa United custodian, was resting, according to a report from a source inside the Super Eagles camp. However, he is anticipated to play for his nation in the tournament’s final game, scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024.
