Martha Ankomah sues Lil Win over defamatory comments by the Kumawood comedian

Martha Ankomah has reportedly sued actor Lil Win due to his disparaging remarks about her on social media. LilWin has taken a harsh stance against his peers, explicitly targeting Martha Ankomah for remarks he believed derogatory regarding Kumawood productions. He notably criticised Ankomah for comments she made in interviews in 2017 and 2023 on the deteriorating calibre of recent Kumawood productions.

In an interview with Hitz FM, she said, “I love their storylines, and they used to have really good films like Kumasi Yonkuo, but lately, most of their films portray witchcraft, which does not motivate me to shoot with them.”

But as LilWin was criticising Dr Likee’s team, the subject of Martha Ankomah’s remarks came up because one of his actresses had defected to Akabenezer’s stables. Actress Mimi has been criticising LilWin in interviews lately.

LilWin has responded by assaulting everybody who has ever downplayed his efforts, including Martha Ankomah. “Martha, those wealthier than you are very self-respecting and humble,” he remarked. Are you thinking of yourself as a star? Who is familiar with you? What’s in your possession?

“I have no idea why GTP chose Martha Ankomah to represent their brand instead of McBrown, Mercy Asiedu, and other celebrities. People who don’t do these things include Van Vicker, Roselyn Ngissah, and others. They collaborate with us as well.

They film Kumawood productions. I’m still shocked that you said things like that. Were you intoxicated?” The comedian called names of famous Hollywood stars who flew to Kumasi out of humility and respect to shoot several movies with the stars in the Ashanti region.

Martha Ankomah has filed a defamation case against LilWin in reaction to the actor’s remarks. The February 14, 2024 complaint summons Lilwin to appear in court and explain his comments. Ankomah filed the lawsuit in response to what she believes to be harmful and defamatory remarks the actor made about her.
