This week marks the beginning of the new premier league season, and the first match was between Burnley and Manchester City. City begins with playing an away game with Burnley at the Turf Moor Stadium. Manchester City did it again, with Erling Haaland scoring the opener in the 4th minute for City to take the lead.
Expectedly, Harland doubled down on the goal in the 36th minute, gaining a 2-goal lead. In the 75th minute, Rodri scored another goal extending City’s lead in their opening match. Haaland is the leading goal-scorer after the first match, and tournaments for the season will continue tomorrow as scheduled.
Burnley created significant chances, but they could not convert any of them into goals. The technical team should work hard to prepare them for their next match. Despite Burnley not scoring a goal, their player Anass Zaroury got a red card in the 94th minute after a dangerous tackle on City’s player Kyle Walker.
Haaland will remain the top goal-scorer if no player scores more than two goals in the week’s remaining matches. Arsenal the current community shield winner, faces Nottingham Forest on August 12, 2023, at the Emirates Stadium. Besides Arsenal’s match, Sheffield will face Crystal Palace, Bournemouth will play West Ham, Brighton will face Luton Town, Everton will play Fulham, and Newcastle will play Aston Villa.
Who else to score the first goal of this Premier League season but Erling Haaland?! 🔥 #MCFC
