
Funny Face granted GH120,000 bail after Kasoa accident involving 5 people
Funny Face is eventually freed from police custody following his almost catastrophic Kasoa accident. On Sunday, March 24, 2023, at around 8 PM, the Ghanaian actor was engaged in an accident after he allegedly struck five people with his Hyundai Atos.Social media reports said that the collision occurred in Kasoa, Kakraba Junction. After the incident, Funny Face was taken into custody by the police and placed under arrest. On March 26, 2024, the actor appeared at the Kasoa-Akweley District Court; he was placed on detention.
According to Pulse, Richard Kojo Nyarko, the head of Joy FM’s Legal Affairs Desk, stated during today’s lunchtime news programme in Accra, “We went to the Kasoa-Akweley district court where comedian Funny Face was put before the court.” We’ve been informed that he was given GH₵120,000 in bail during the in-camera hearing.” He provided more details about the victims, saying, “We have also been informed by police prosecutors that four of the accident victims are responding to therapy and have been released from custody. Right now, the other is recovering.”
In an interview with pulse, Ebenezer, the 50-year-old mother that Funny Face had pushed down, described what happened in the aftermath. Funny Face recently had an exclusive interview with renowned broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, who provided the comedian with a forum to express his viewpoint after the incident. In the course of their talk, Kofi Adomah related particulars that Funny Face had disclosed on the terrifying day of the incident, disclosing that the comic had acknowledged feeling overwhelmed and on the verge of suicide at the site.
Kofi Adomah claims that Funny Face admitted that after learning of the charges, he thought about ending his life by rushing into traffic. He was, however, talked out of acting so harshly when further witnesses refuted the story, saying that the kids are recovering.
