Numerous lifestyle choices can increase the risk of a complicated and multidimensional disease called cancer. Numerous disregarded behaviours and routines can raise one’s risk of cancer. However, you can dramatically lower the risk by being aware of these behaviours and changing them wisely. These are five typical daily behaviours that may cause cancer, along with reliable references for each.
1. Smoking and Tobacco use
One of the leading causes of cancer, especially lung cancer, is smoking. More than 70 recognized carcinogens found in tobacco smoke harm cells’ DNA and cause mutations that can cause cancer. 2. Excessive alcohol consumption

4. Prolonged Sun Exposure
Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from tanning beds or the sun is one of the main risk factors for melanoma and skin cancer. Excessive UV radiation harms the skin cells’ DNA, which can result in mutations and the emergence of cancer. One can reduce or prevent skin cancer by using sunscreen and protective gear and avoiding the hottest parts of the day.
5. Sedentary lifestyle
A sedentary lifestyle with little exercise is a contributing factor to a higher risk of several malignancies, such as endometrial, breast, and colon cancer. Maintaining a healthy weight, enhancing immune system performance, and regulating hormones are all benefits of physical activity that guard against cancer. It is advantageous to incorporate regular exercise into everyday routines.
