Empress Gifty consoles husband, Hopeson Adorye after being sacked by the NPP
Empress Gifty, a Ghana gospel musician, supported her husband, Hopeson Adorye, after the NPP kicked him out of the New Patriotic Party.
Among the prominent NPP figures dismissed from the party were the former Kpone Katamanso parliamentary candidate, Nana Ohene Ntow, Boniface Abubakar Saddique, and Yaw Buabeng Asamoah.
In a press statement released on Monday, November 20, 2023, the party’s leadership claimed that these members’ termination was due to their open support of a presidential candidate other than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s elected flagbearer.
This support, according to the party’s statement issued by Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary, violates Articles 3(5) (A)(4) and 3(9)(1) of the constitution.
The party leadership made it clear that the four expelled members’ acts violated the party’s ideals and that, as a result, their membership had been revoked. In response to the news, Empress Gifty comforted her husband and told him not to give up.
