Cristiano Ronaldo's hotel bed up for grabs with starting price of €5,000
Cristiano Ronaldo’s bed has been auctioned. The starting bid for the hotel bed the Portuguese player slept on while Portugal was in Slovenia is €5,000. The Portuguese team, which included the 39-year-old, stayed at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana.
Even though the five-time Ballon d’Or winner probably slept well that night in opulent surroundings, a shocking 2-0 setback against Stozice soured his mood. The renowned player stayed out of the spotlight, so it was difficult to get a sight of Ronaldo off the pitch even though hordes of local fans flocked to Brno airport and the hotel where Portugal stayed.
Even though autograph hunters were let down, they can now obtain a special memento with a CR7 theme. The Grand Plaza Hotel and media business POP TV will sell Ronaldo’s bed, with all revenues going to charity.
A statement via GOAL reads: “Since this was a rather special and unique event, we decided to prepare a unique surprise in which all fans can participate. We do not know when we will have the opportunity to host Ronaldo in Slovenia again. At a special auction, we will offer the bed in which the star Cristiano Ronaldo slept at our place. We wish everyone good luck and successful participation in the event.”
The bed’s opening bid will be €5,000, but fans of Ronaldo are expected to bid quickly to acquire furniture touched by one of the game’s biggest stars.
