AFCON 2023: Black Stars players will earn $30,000 each if they qualify to the knockout stage
AFCON 2023 has not been easy for the Black Stars, but the GFA is prepared to reward them for their victories. Each member of the Ghana national team will get $30,000 should the team go past the 2023 AFCON group stage. After drawing with Egypt and losing to Cape Verde in their opening two group games, Chris Hughton’s team has not triumphed in either game.
The Black Stars will have a chance to apologise before their pivotal last Group B match on Monday night against Mozambique. The Black Stars would go up to four points with a victory, which would just be enough to guarantee them a spot in the top four third-place finishes or second place. If the squad advances to the knockout stage, each player will receive a qualification bonus, as mentioned earlier, according to a 3Sports report.
According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Black Stars 2023 Africa Cup of Nations budget won’t be made public until after the competition. Charles Amofa, the PRO for the Ministry, stated that daily expenditures are being made and that the national team’s budget is still being discussed. So, he advised Ghanaians to pray for Chris Hughton’s and his team’s success in the Ivory Coast.
