Asamoah Gyan's reason for going for DNA test for his three kids revealed
Asamoah Gyan’s brother and lawyer have answered many questions regarding his trending marriage annulment saga. In the latest news, it was discovered that the primary driver behind Asamoah Gyan’s decision to test Gifty Gyan’s three children for paternity via DNA was the uncertainty surrounding the authenticity of Gifty’s previous marriage.
A DNA test was required, according to Asamoah Gyan’s elder brother. He affirmed that after it was discovered that Gifty had previously married before marrying Asamoah Gyan. Anamonpa Media reported earlier that the court ordered Asamoah Gyan to present some properties to his ex-wife.
“Asamoah Gyan did not simply wake up to ask for his kids’ DNA tests. The issue was his ex-wife’s marriage to another guy, so he sought to ascertain his paternity to the children, and the DNA results confirmed that he was the father. Therefore, as their father, the court ordered him to keep caring for the kids.” Baffour disclosed this to Asempa FM.
After falling in love and getting married in 2013, Gyan and Gifty’s marriage was irreversibly ruined, which resulted in a highly acrimonious split. When Gyan filed for divorce in the Matrimonial Division of the High Court in Accra in 2018, the couple’s marriage made headlines.
At that point, the former Black Stars captain began to question the authenticity of his three children, so he asked each of them to undergo a DNA paternity test to ascertain the truth. On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the court ultimately decided that Asamoah Gyan was the biological father of all three children, ending a five-year legal battle.
The court ordered the former Sunderland striker to give his ex-wife GHc25,000 per month for the maintenance and well-being of their kids. The amount above does not include the costs of raising children, such as school fees, medical bills, dental care, travel tickets, and other expenses.
The court also granted Gyan’s ex-wife a four-bedroom flat in Ghana and his residence in the UK as compensation. As part of the court settlement, Gifty was also awarded a BMW automobile and a petrol station owned by the retired football player at Prampram.
