Asamoah Gyan posts cryptic message after Ghana's collapse against Mozambique at AFCON
Asamoah Gyan’s comment after the Black Stars’ defeat has caused uproar on social media. Following the Black Stars’ disastrous performance in the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of Ghana, has responded oddly. The four-time African champions are in danger of losing the competition after giving up twice in injury time on Monday in a 2-2 draw with Mozambique.
Ghana’s decision to continue in Ivory Coast will hinge on the outcomes of a few more group-stage matches. Gyan has been following the tournament closely but hasn’t said much since the game at Alassane Outarra Stadium in Abidjan concluded.
Nevertheless, despite his sacrifice for the country, the 37-year-old said in a video that he was always the target when the squad lost Tuesday afternoon. Emojis of contemplation and pursed lips accompanied the video posted on social media and matched his earlier remarks regarding his tenure with the Black Stars.
