Ancelotti Backs Under Radar Real Madrid Star for 2024 Ballon d'Or
Ancelotti has tipped his favourite for the Ballon d’Or if Germany wins Euro 2024 and Real Madrid wins the Champions League; Carlo Ancelotti will support Toni Kroos in winning this year’s Ballon d’Or. After overcoming Bayern Munich in the semifinals, Los Blancos advanced to the Champions League final, securing another La Liga championship.
The last obstacle to the Spanish powerhouses securing their record-tying 15th European championship is Borussia Dortmund. Kroos emerged from international retirement to improve Germany’s chances of winning Euro 2024. He has been crucial to Madrid’s success this year. Ancelotti believes Kroos’s performance was good enough to win the Ballon d’Or, and he is pretty impressed with it.
“I would like for Kroos to win the Ballon d’Or, but I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Carlo Ancelotti has said. But maybe if he wins the Champions League and the Euros, why not?” Ancelotti added.
According to Sportsbrief, the two front-runners for the 2024 Ballon d’Or are now Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, but Kroos is anticipated to finish in the top 10. Germany’s chances of winning the prize would significantly improve by winning Euro 2024.
The 34-year-old has helped Real Madrid with nine assists and one goal throughout the season. The vote was limited to the top 100 FIFA-ranked countries, and the award moved from a calendar year to a season-based system.
